We recently unboxed CloudFone’s entry-level smartphone—Thrill Power. It’s a sort of blessing in disguise because of its perfect timing as we cover different events, both local and abroad.

As soon as we open the box, there’s a starter kit (quick start guide about the CloudFone Thrill Power) and warranty card. It comes with a standard charger, USB cable, and awesome Star Wars Storm-trooper earbuds with microphone. How cool was that?!! You don’t need to buy a phone case either as the phone comes with a protective case that fits the CloudFone Thrill Power.

I have to admit that when I heard that CloudFone is a local phone brand, I have few doubts. But I was totally wrong! It turns out that the CloudFone Thrill Power is way better from its few rivals in terms performance, quality, and pricing.

Design-wise, the black and gray metal frame (with brushed upper and lower finish) case offers solid build quality and sophisticated look.  There’s a huge 5-inch High Definition In-Plane Switching LCD touchscreen display (1280 x 720 resolution) with 2.5D curved glass that provides premium viewing and higher quality resolution. Now if you’re more into Selfie, the 5 Megapixels front camera with fixed focus features suits best for you. Meanwhile, you can take group photos on every occasion with your friends as the CloudFone Thrill Power is equipped with 8 Megapixels with Autofocus LED Flash on its rear camera. Productivity-wise, the phone comes with a digital clock, calculator, alarm, calendar, social networks in Phonebook and a To Do List.

Size-wise, it measures 143 x 73 x 9.9 mm (similar to iPhone 6S) making it more handy and easy to grip. You’ll also find power and volume buttons at the right upper side, which is very common in all android phones. On top is a 3.5 mm headphone connector with micro USB port, which you can use while taking calls from your car to prevent anti-distracted driving law.

The CloudFone Thrill Power is powered by 1.3GHz Quad core Mediatek MT6580 processor that runs with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. As per memory and storage, the phone has a 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM expandable via micro SD card slot up to 64 GB. On the flip side, we just feel that the storage capacity is not enough to max out your usage. Nevertheless, you can’t argue as its price is best in its class.

At the back of the phone, there’s a decent finely tuned sound courtesy of its dotted hole speaker; although, when in full max volume, it produces high pitch static sound. And just like any Android phones, the CloudFone Thrill Power is dual SIM, which is convenient for frequent travelers. You can easily switch-on with your WiFi, 3G and Bluetooth once you need to be connected. The GPS signals works well, especially when using google maps. Although, the lack of LTE connectivity is perhaps one the slightest downside for this phone.

We understand that all phones in the market place today offers different unique selling proposition. For the CloudFone Thrill Power, it’s his battery that offers a powerful haymaker punch!  It has a massive 5000mAh battery that scores high compared to a higher-specs android phone. Of course, everything will entirely depend on your day-to-day heavy usage; but overall, we really feel that the CloudFone Thrill Power battery appears a notch higher above!
