BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility are joining forces to accelerate Cebu and the Visayas’ shift to electric mobility with two major moves: the BYD Tech Tour at SM Seaside City Cebu and the launch of 16 new ACMobility electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) across the island. These initiatives mark a significant leap toward a more accessible, practical, and sustainable EV future for the region.

“This expansion brings electrification within reach of more Filipino communities,” said Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility. “As Cebu takes the lead in the Visayas region, we are building a reliable and inclusive EV charging network that caters to the increasing demand for sustainable mobility.”

Cebu’s Electric Ecosystem Grows Stronger

From April 25 to 27, BYD showcased its latest EV technology during the immersive BYD Tech Tour at SM Seaside City Cebu, offering visitors test drives and exclusive discounts of up to PHP 10,000. This event complemented BYD’s expanding dealership presence in Cebu, which started with the opening of BYD Cebu North through Global Star Motors in 2024. Additional dealerships have followed at Ayala Center Cebu and Il Corso, with plans for three more outlets in Cebu Central, Toledo, and Cebu South.

“Our expansion in Cebu reflects our commitment to making sustainable mobility real for everyday Filipinos,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. “And we’re able to do that because of our work with ACMobility to ensure the infrastructure is in place to support every EV we put on the road.”

Building the EV Infrastructure Backbone

As BYD grows its footprint, ACMobility is powering the region’s EV revolution through its Charge Forward initiative and the national Philippine EV Spine program. Targeting over 35 strategic charging locations across the Visayas by the end of 2025, the network already covers key spots including Ayala Center Cebu, Il Corso, and remote islands like Bantayan and Camotes. This ensures dependable access for EV drivers whether in city centers or exploring the islands.

“ACMobility’s Philippine EV Spine initiative is pivotal in shaping the future of electric mobility across the country,” added Buencamino. “We’re laying the foundation for a strong nationwide network of EV charging stations, ensuring that every Filipino has easy access to the infrastructure needed to embrace electric vehicles with confidence and convenience.”

Through partnerships with Ayala Malls, GlobalStar, Continuum Mobility Solutions, Prince Stores, City Time Square, and Club Filipino Cebu, ACMobility is expanding EV charging availability in urban hubs and underserved areas alike, with more collaborations forthcoming.

Convenient and Affordable Charging

To maintain 24/7 reliable charging, ACMobility introduced a paid model via the Evro app, ensuring consistent upkeep and service quality. Rates in Visayas start at PHP33.5 for AC charging and PHP38 for DC fast charging, aligned with local energy costs. Flexible subscription plans range from PHP1,200 to PHP4,000, offering 30-day charging credits and up to 20% savings. A one-time prepaid option, Charge500, is also available for casual users, making EV ownership easier and more cost-efficient.

A Unified Vision for National Electrification

The BYD-ACMobility partnership exemplifies a powerful, coordinated push to speed up EV adoption nationwide. BYD leads with innovative electric vehicles while ACMobility builds the essential infrastructure, together paving the way for a seamless transition to cleaner, smarter mobility.
