Kia Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, proudly marks a milestone with the graduation of the first batch of cadets from the Kia Technician’s Boot Camp (KTBC)—a pioneering program crafted to elevate Filipino automotive technicians to global standards. This initiative not only enhances local expertise but also opens international career pathways, including the opportunity for top-performing cadets to compete in the 12th Kia World Skills Cup in Seoul, South Korea, set for 2026.

“Through the KTBC program, we’re creating pathways for Filipino technicians to grow their careers locally and globally. This initiative provides them with the essential skills to thrive in an ever-evolving automotive industry and prepares them for leadership roles within Kia’s global network,” said Rommel Ramos, Aftersales Director of Kia Philippines.

Driving Excellence, Empowering Futures

Launched in September 2024, KTBC delivers comprehensive training in preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of fuel-powered vehicles, hybrids, and electric vehicles (EVs). What sets the program apart is its holistic approach—blending technical mastery with leadership, character building, and professional behavior development.

Held at the Kia Training Center in Carmona, Cavite, in collaboration with Don Bosco Makati and Batangas State University, the program offers cadets intensive, hands-on experience. Graduates gain full proficiency in Kia Diagnostic Systems (KDS) and advanced troubleshooting tools—preparing them to service both conventional and next-generation vehicles.

Global Standards, Global Opportunities

KTBC integrates global best practices, aligning its curriculum with international service benchmarks. Graduates don’t just leave with technical know-how—they’re groomed to represent the Philippines on the world stage. Outstanding performers earn the opportunity to compete in the Kia World Skills Cup, a prestigious biennial competition showcasing the best technicians from across the globe.

Beyond mechanical training, cadets undergo character formation and leadership development through sessions led by ACMobility industry experts. The program also includes training in service process standards, interpretation of technical service bulletins, and advanced diagnostics in areas such as Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH).

Transforming Careers, Empowering Communities

The Kia Technician’s Boot Camp (KTBC) is more than just a training program—it’s a life-changing opportunity. To date, fifteen cadets from the inaugural batch are now employed across Kia’s dealership network nationwide. Many of these graduates hail from underserved communities and are now equipped with world-class skills that open doors to careers both in the Philippines and abroad.

A second batch of cadets is set to join the program in August 2025, continuing Kia’s commitment to nurturing top-tier technical talent and shaping the future of mobility.

“KTBC is an investment in the future of Kia’s service excellence in the Philippines. As we continue to redefine mobility for Filipino families, we are empowering a new generation of technicians to deliver world-class service with precision, care, and innovation. Through KTBC, we are strengthening Kia’s promise of a better, smarter, and more connected future for every customer we serve,” explained Ramos.
