At its annual SAP Sapphire conference, SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) unveiled a wave of AI-powered innovations and strategic partnerships designed to fundamentally transform how enterprises operate. Centered around its generative AI assistant, Joule, and an expanding ecosystem of intelligent agents, SAP is putting the power of Business AI into the hands of every user—helping organizations unlock new levels of productivity, agility, and insight.

SAP combines the world’s most powerful suite of business applications with uniquely rich data and cutting-edge AI to create a flywheel of customer value,” said Christian Klein, CEO of SAP. “With the expansion of Joule, new partnerships with AI leaders, and advancements in SAP Business Data Cloud, we’re delivering on the promise of Business AI to help customers thrive in an increasingly unpredictable world.”

AI That Boosts Productivity—Everywhere You Work

SAP’s generative AI assistant Joule is now more deeply embedded across the enterprise landscape—both within and beyond the SAP ecosystem. It delivers personalized, contextual responses, surfacing real-time insights and streamlining workflows.

Joule’s latest iteration includes an AI-powered action bar developed with WalkMe, enabling it to proactively respond to user behavior across applications. This always-on assistant can anticipate needs before they arise—while remaining compliant with SAP’s rigorous ethical AI standards.

A new partnership with Perplexity, an AI-powered answer engine, takes Joule’s capabilities even further. Integrated with the SAP Knowledge Graph, Joule can now answer complex business questions using both structured and unstructured data—presenting insights through visual formats such as charts and graphs. For instance, a user could ask how recent global events might affect their supply chain and receive a data-backed forecast tailored to their organization.

Intelligent Agents That Reinvent Workflows

SAP has also unveiled an expanded library of Joule Agents—task-specific AI components that automate and orchestrate end-to-end business processes. These agents operate across lines of business, intelligently connecting functions like customer experience, supply chain, spend management, finance, and HR.

Fueled by SAP’s real-time data foundation, Joule Agents are capable of autonomous decision-making—helping organizations stay agile and responsive in fast-changing environments. Working with industry-leading partners, SAP’s agent ecosystem offers interoperable solutions designed for seamless execution and measurable outcomes.

A New Operating System for Business AI

To accelerate enterprise AI development, SAP introduced the AI Foundation, a new operating system that allows developers to build, customize, and scale AI solutions from a single, unified platform.

A key feature is the Prompt Optimizer, developed in collaboration with frontier AI lab Not Diamond, which simplifies the creation of high-quality AI prompts—cutting down development time for complex use cases from days to minutes.

Smarter Data, Smarter Decisions

SAP also expanded the capabilities of its Business Data Cloud with new intelligent applications designed for specific lines of business. These apps can learn continuously, simulate outcomes, and provide AI-driven guidance using real-time, business-critical data.

For example, the People Intelligence application leverages employee and skills data to optimize team performance, delivering actionable workforce insights and recommendations that align with broader business goals.

Strategic Partnerships that Drive Transformation

SAP’s new collaboration with Palantir is designed to help joint customers accelerate cloud adoption and modernization. Through seamless integration with SAP Business Data Cloud, customers gain a unified data foundation, enabling faster, data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. This partnership also supports high-stakes use cases, including work with U.S. government entities that require rapid adaptation to change and disruption.

Faster Time to Value with Cloud Solutions

SAP also introduced new SAP Business Suite packages that simplify the adoption of its cloud solutions. Each package includes embedded capabilities from SAP Build, enabling organizations to customize applications to their specific needs.

To further streamline cloud transitions, SAP unveiled a new solution featuring Joule as the intelligent entry point, enriched with insights from SAP Signavio and SAP LeanIX. This solution offers personalized guidance and actionable recommendations aligned to an organization’s transformation goals—helping achieve up to 35% faster time to value. With these announcements, SAP reinforces its position as a leader in Business AI, delivering real-world value through intelligent systems, meaningful partnerships, and a deep understanding of enterprise needs in an evolving digital landscape.
