It’s now official! Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) has announced that they will bring the 7-seater subcompact Crossover Toyota Rush in the country.

The announcement has been made by TMP President Satoru Suzuki during Toyota’s Media Thanksgiving Party held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in BGC.

We are excited to see how the Rush will compete against its top rivals such as Honda BR-V, Suzuki Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, and the soon-to-launch Mitsubishi Xpander.

Last year, we got the opportunity to preview the Toyota RUSH in Indonesian Motor Show. We are not sure though if TMP will bring the same engine that Toyota Rush offers in Indonesia. On paper, the Rush is powered by a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that is mated by a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic

Quite noticeable are the Innova-like large grille with four chrome slats, rectangular fog lamps, and LED headlights. Obviously, there’s a top-spec TRD Sportivo variant that comes with badges and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Interior-wise, the Rush TRD specs features keyless entry, push-button start and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. On a safety aspect, the top spec Rush has 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control and hill start assist.

In terms of price, we don’t know it yet. I’m sure Toyota will certainly RUSH this vehicle!!!
