Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc (YMPI), the country’s leading motorcycle manufacturer, has recently launched its iconic SR400 at the flagship Yamaha Y-Zone in Pasig City.

Launched in the late 70’s, the Yamaha SR400 is essentially a perfect platform for Café, bobber, or Street Tracker Machine.

Quite noticeable is the classic-styled one-piece seat design which offers a lots room for back rides. The kickstarter of SR400 is also a pretty much evident of blast from the past. Charming isn’t it? Yes, especially if you want to bring back the glory days that kicker pedal when starting, though, is quite a skill. The retro styling is a nostalgia, with slim chassis (single-double cradle frame), 18-inch front and rear tires, and low seat height position.

Size-wise, it measures 82.1 in (L) x 29.5 in (W) x 43.1 in (H) perfect fit for an entry-level custom bike builder. The fuel tank is also a visible attraction, which can accommodate 12 liters of fuel reserve.

Equipped with 399cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve power plant with electronic fuel injection, the SR400 provides a classic fun ride.

Price-wise, Yamaha is offering the SR400 at P329,000. Is this worth buying? Well, personally, if you’re born in the 70’s, this bike is worth more than any diamonds! It’s classic retro look brings you back in time.
