American carmaker Ford knows the value of family as they impart to each members lessons that are vital about road safety.

Their Driving Skills for Life (DSFL), a globally-recognized training program that educates drivers on smart, safe, and fuel-efficient driving, is one of Ford’s ongoing commitment to promote and improve driver safety in the country.

Now on its 11th year, DSFL aims to reach over 2,500 public utility vehicle and private vehicle drivers all over the country this year, with more workshop sessions in select areas in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, including more hands-on driving sessions to bring to life the participants’ learnings after the workshops.

Since 2008, DSFL has trained over 22,000 Filipino drivers nationwide in partnership with Tuason Racing School, the program’s long-time trainer and facilitator. This year, the DSFL forms part of a region-wide road and family safety advocacy that Ford is leading to reinforce the importance of being safe on the road, especially for families going out on roadtrips.

Part of its new training modules includes vehicle handling, driving in special conditions, anti-distracted driving, and fuel-efficient driving. The best part of the program is that all sessions are completely FREE of charge.

EJ Francisco, AVP, Communications of Ford Philippines, shares his insights about how road safety is so crucial in all aspect. “The DSFL has definitely come a long way in helping promote road safety and safety driving in the Philippines, so we’re definitely inspired year after year to think of ways to improve the training program, share more relevant tips and techniques in safe driving and road safety, and extend the reach to more Filipino drivers.”
