We came across to see the Austrian Motorcycle Brand Husqvarna in one event of our good friend and motorcycle expert Jay Taruc. We’ve seen the brand last April at the Bangkok Motor Show and this is the first time that it landed in the Philippine market.

In the Philippines, it will be distributed by Motology, a motorcycle apparel accessories that sells multi-brand motorcycles based in Cebu, who also owns KTM Visayas Corporation.

Globally, Husqvarna Motorcycles is currently owned by Austrian KTM AG and manufactures motocross, enduro, supermoto, and street motorcycles.

We asked their Marketing Manager Danielle Manatad of KTM Visayas Corporation about the Husqvarna Motorcycles. “Actually, this is the first time that we bring the Husqvarna brand in Manila. Our dealership is based in Cebu. Here, it’s Biker Box selling few units. It’s very timely that we display it here at Ride PH first year anniversary,” said Manatad.

“We have three models of Husqvarna—the Svartpilen 401, Vitpilen 401, and the Vitpilen 701. All are now available in Motology stores,” adds Manatad.

Let’s start with the Svartpilen 401. Design-wise, the Svartpilen 401 essentially looks like an urban enduro concept bike packed with an aggressive styling, sharing the same chassis and engine with the KTM 390 Duke.

In terms of power, it has 373 cc DOHC 4 valves single cylinder with 43 horsepower and 9,000 rpmall mated in a 6-speed transmission. The Svartpilen 401 is priced at P499,000.

The Vitpilen 401, on the other hand, has a subtle cafe racer styling. It has 17-inch bronze anodised spoked wheels with electric yellow detailing. It is powered by a modern 375-cc single-cylinder engine that provides 44 horsepower and 32 Newton Meter of torque. As per price, the SRP is the same with Svartpilen 401 at P499,000.

And lastly, the Vitpilen 701. This bike has a striking roadster appearance which is powered by a potent 75 horsepower and 53.1 ft-lb maximum torque, similar to the KTM 690 Duke and the Husqvarna’s own Supermoto 701. We think this is a real deal bike for fashionable commuters. The Vitpilen 701 is priced at P749,000.
