Stargram Global, the Korean IT company that specializes technology such as Blockchain and O2O, has announced that the company will launch its most private and secure messenger platform to PH marketthe mit messenger.

The mit messenger, which stands for “Mission Impossible Talk”, was developed as a full service messenger app with the goal of enhancing user convenience, such as coin settlement and free / busy service transactions, with an emphasis on confidentiality of membership information and securing messages between recipients.

The mit messenger is a collaboration between Stargram Global and Stargram Philippines that uses a peer-to-peer (P2P) concept that does not store conversation contents or files on a server and functions. It aims to become a global messenger to compete with Viber and Facebook Messenger.

Aside from the Philippines, Stargram Global already started its expansion in Southeast Asia region (Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand) focused on building global electronic payment system with a blockchain based wallet function.

KJ Kim, Chief Operating Officer of Stargram Global, said, “mit messenger was developed around the weak local telco system, and has the capability to make video calls using the lowest amount of data.”

It has extremely low data usage.  Users can make phone calls up to 7 minutes using only 1Mb of data.  Transmission speed is the fastest in the world within the small bandwidth. Another main technology of mit messenger is its ability to recover the “lost” voice and video data resulting to clearer sound quality and less drop calls.

In addition, we incorporated a messenger payment function, similar to Chinese app called WeChat ,for payment for utility bills, taxi, and the like.  It provides easy money transfer function that would benefit millions of overseas workers, ” adds KJ Kim.

Moreover, the company foresees that mit messenger would be beneficial to some 15 million Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) across the globe, that can easily transfer money, deposit in or settle out a payment through mit messenger’s wallet function.

The locally developed mit messenger is soon to launch on December 4. The company is expected to reach 20 million subscriber by 2019 and 100 million by 2020.
