Luxury British brand Range Rover has been awarded a maximum five-star rating by Euro NCAP safety after passing the crashed test of 94-percent for adult occupant safety and 87-percent for child occupant safety.

The vehicle that was tested was the second-generation Range Rover Evoque.

Built on Land Rover’s new Premium Transverse Architecture to ensure maximum occupant safety, the new Evoque comes with the latest advanced driver assistance features, including Emergency Braking; Lane Keep Assist; Front and Rear Parking Aids; and a Rear Camera as standard, to help avoid road traffic accidents.

Owners can add to this with the addition of two optional packs. The Park Pack adds Park Assist, 360-degree Parking Aid, Rear Traffic Monitor and Clear Exit Monitor, while the Drive Pack offers Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Assist and High Speed Emergency Braking, for convenience and safety wherever the road takes you.

“The Range Rover Evoque is at home in the city and the country, so we added the latest technologies aimed at preventing accidents and a new vehicle architecture to protect occupants in the event of an incident. The result is another five-star performer from Land Rover,” said Finbar McFall, Global Product Marketing Director of Jaguar Land Rover.

The suite of advanced technologies on the new Range Rover Evoque includes Land Rover’s ClearSight Rear View Mirror. Transforming into an HD video screen at the flick of a switch, it offers a wider 50-degree field of vision and superior low light visibility by displaying a rear-facing camera feed from the top of the car.

ClearSight Ground View technology is also available, effectively making the bonnet invisible by projecting camera imagery onto the upper touchscreen to show the driver a 180-degree view under the front of the vehicle. This is useful when negotiating difficult parking spaces, navigating high city centre kerbs or tackling rough terrain.

In the Philippines, the Coventry Motors Corporation is the official importer and distributor of Jaguar Land Rover cars in the  country.

The company also announces the arrival of the soon-to-be launched new Evoque, which will be led by Chris Ward, the new president of Coventry Motors Corporation.
