If you’re looking for a sporty and functional compact sedan, here’s a good treat from Honda Cars Philippines as the Japanese car brand recently launched their new entry model variant for the Civic, the 1.8-liter S CVT variant.

According to Honda, the Civic 1.8-liter S CVT aims to give customers one of the best value for money proposition in the C-Segment category.

Exterior-wise, the Civic 1.8 S CVT sports a new Halogen Projector Headlights with Integrated Daytime Running Lights and 16-inch Two Tone Alloy Wheels which still compliment the Civic 1.8 S CVT sporty and aggressive front fascia.

Inside, it has a 7-inch Touch Screen Display Audio system, which provides customers more ease and enjoyment as they navigate through their in-car entertainment requirements through the systems Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free telephone functionality and audio streaming as well as USB input for media playback.

In terms of power, the new 2019 Civic are available with two engine options—the 1.5-liter turbo charged DOHC i-VTEC engine and the 1.8-liter SOHC i-VTEC engine.

The 1.5-liter turbo charged DOHC i-VTEC engine for the RS Turbo produces 170 horsepower and a maximum torque of 22.4 kg-m at 1,700-5,500 rpm, while the 1.8-liter SOHC i-VTEC engine pours out a responsive 139 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 17.7 kg-m of torque at 4,300 rpm. Power of both engines is transmitted through a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) developed based on Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology.

On top of the Civic’s potent powertrains, Honda’s Eco Assist System, which consists of the ECON mode and Eco-Coaching Ambient Light, is still available to help encourage drivers achieve fuel-efficient driving.

This includes Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold, and Dual Front Driver and Front Passenger SRS Airbags.

Meanwhile, the RS Turbo CVT will get additional safety features such as Front Driver and Passenger Side Airbags and Side Curtain Airbags for added protection for the passengers. With these superior safety features, the new Civic also boasts a 5-Star ASEAN NCAP safety rating as it gives customers better safety and peace of mind on the road.
