The idea of building the lives of people in times of great adversities are essentially one of the best act of humanity. We’ve seen companies taking initiatives to demonstrate and build hope in times of crisis. Such in the case of Shell Philippines.

Disinfection of Shell Select Stores

To help minimize the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Shell Philippines responded and launched a program initiative that focuses on health and safety of people, customers and the community.

At dawn today (March 27) in NAIA, Ops Mgr Monette Soriao sends off her incoming crew to the offshore platform.

Dubbed as “Project Shelter,” the program helps Shell employees to have flexible working arrangements, financial assistance such as access to emergency loans, 24/7 Tele-Medicine medical service, virtual counseling services, and temporary accommodation and transportation support.

Amidst the challenges, Shell strives to continue providing vital energy products to customers and communities and have business continuity plans in place to sustain operations. These are Malampaya—the first oil and gas platform designed and built in the country, which continues to operate to provide 30-percent of Luzon’s power needs and  Shell stations.

Kenneth Ronquillo, Usecs Gerry Bayugo and Rosette Vergeire and Asec. Nestor Santiago.

To help medical and government front liners, the company donates N95 face masks to the Department of Health and the Philippine General Hospital, Select Water to seven hospitals, food packs, biscuits and water, through Shell retailers. They also assisted the municipality of Pasacao, Camarines Sur, in purchasing relief goods for indigent families, and support the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation in COVID-19 response.

Also, Shell continues to support its forecourt staff, which are all frontliners, too. How? By providing accommodation with transportation, meals for staff, face masks and alcohol, and financial support who were affected by the enhanced community quarantine.

The company continues to strive and care for communities in providing the welfare of Filipino motorists.
