Here’s what big bike enthusiasts have to say after riding The New CRF1100L Africa Twin, The All-New CB500X, and The All-New X-ADV

It’s been a month since Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), the No. 1 motorcycle manufacturer in the country, started offering free test rides for those wanting to step into the world of big bike riding or planning to switch to Honda Big Bikes.

The free test ride aims to introduce and explain all the details about Honda Big Bikes and provide customers with a first-hand experience riding them. It features the Honda Big Bike Adventure series – The All-New CB500XThe All-New X-ADV, and The New CRF1100L Africa Twin – and other Honda Big Bikes, like The All-New CB1000R , The All-New CBR500R and The New CB650R .

Since it started, a couple of test riders have already taken this opportunity. After registering online via a link posted on HPI’s official Facebook page, they received a confirmation for the test ride at the world-class Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC) in Parañaque City.

With requirements that include a valid driver’s license and a complete COVID-19 vaccination card, the free test ride was, indeed, a treat for big bike enthusiasts, especially since they also got a chance to have a one-on-one session with an HSDC professional instructor.

Now, if you want to know the experiences of some riders who had this amazing chance, here’s what they have to say:

A powerful adventure bike for an all-terrain experience

Jay Saguid, a 44-year-old seaman was among those who put The New CRF1100L Africa Twin to test. Packed with a 6-speed transmission and 1,084cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke, 8-valve parallel-twin engine, including a maximum power output of 75kW at 7,500rpm, 105Nm of torque at 6,250rpm, and fuel efficiency of 20.5 km/L, Saguid can only think of one word to describe

The New CRF1100L Africa Twin – POWER.

With a front suspension of Showa 45mm cartridge-type inverted telescopic fork and a rear suspension of Monoblock aluminum swingarm with Pro-Link, Saguid approved of this big bike’s handling for a thrilling all-terrain experience, matching his expectations.

With a suggested retail price of PHP 940,000, he said that it’s a reasonable price and that he would recommend it to his friends.

For Vincent Joseph Platon M.D., a 43-year-old physician, on the other hand, riding The New CRF1100L Africa Twin made him change his impression on the adventure bike and remarked that it was a great big bike.

“With its powerful performance, I can see that I can take it anywhere. I would also enjoy riding it on heavy trails. I will recommend The New CRF1100L Africa Twin to others because of its powerful performance. I can definitely take it everywhere, even on trails! Absolutely a big bike you should not miss out on!’’ he said.

The New CRF1100L Africa Twin is available in three color variants: Grand Prix Red, Matte Ballistic Black Metallic, and Pearl Glare White.

A comfortable expressway legal and adventure bike for starters

Since 25-year-old software engineer Joshua Allen Sabio was looking for a starter on- and off-road adventure bike for his out-of-town and leisure rides, he tried The All-New CB500X.

Equipped with its high-performing 471cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke DOHC parallel-twin engine with a maximum power output of 35kW at 8,500rpm, torque of 43.2Nm at 6,500rpm, and fuel efficiency of 27.8 km/L, Sabio said that this big bike exceeded his expectations and would ride it to work in the new normal since it’s expressway legal. But what stood out the most was its 6-speed multi-plate wet clutch because it’s “very soft and smooth.”

With a suggested retail price of PHP 380,000, Sabio added that it’s a reasonable price for an adventure bike, which comes in two eye-catching colors, Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. “Since I’m looking for a starter adventure bike, The All-New CB500X is the perfect fit for me. I would choose Honda motorcycles versus other models of this class,” he said.

A smart adventure bike for a modern on- and off-road experience

For Jose Sebastian Arguelles, a 45-year-old BPO employee who is looking for an adventure bike for his next on- or off-road trip, The All-New X-ADV was the perfect ride to test.

“For this on- and off-road adventure bike, I think it’s amazing Honda Smartphone Voice Control system (HSVCS) is The All-New X-ADV’s main selling point. It allows riders to use smartphone features via voice command. It can even help link my smartphone via Bluetooth through the Honda Road Sync application and includes a Bluetooth-capable intercom,” he said.

Arguelles also expressed his approval of this unique, expressway-legal adventure bike for its smooth throttle response. It also has the perfect blend of technology and design with its 745cc parallel-twin SOHC 8-valve liquid-cooled and Euro 5 compliant engine. It can also provide a maximum power of 42.7 kW at 6,750rpm and a 68.7Nm torque at 4,750rpm with a fuel efficiency of 28.3km/L.
