It was a blessing in disguise when we had the opportunity to review the Lenovo L22i-30. Lenovo’s PR team offered us to do a product review with the ultra-slim Q24i, but soon after changing the unit due to availability, so we ended up unboxing the Lenovo L22i-30.

So let’s start with what’s essentially good with this monitor. For starters, the Lenovo 22i-30 is an excellent 21.5-inch full HD display monitor with a three-sided NearEdgeless design, (bottom bezel housing), which offers a minimalistic look for every user. The adopted stylish metal gray finish stand with a phone holder that can hold and stand any larger mobile phone is quite noticeable.

The box comes with a power cable, an HDMI cable, and user manuals. We all know that instruction manuals are essential tools in helping every customer get on board. As a confession, I didn’t use the user’s manual simply because the monitor was straightforward enough for any individual to understand the set-up. Props to Lenovo for that!

This monitor reminds me of my Dad’s Lenovo Inspiron laptop because that too has very thin bezels. It uses also an In-Plane switching (IPS)—a type of LED display panel technology with the best color and viewing angles. Meanwhile, when opening the monitor display, you’ll get four milliseconds response for the color to switch.

Here are some of the nitpicks I found on the monitor. Suppose you watch online streams or play video game consoles. In that case, you’ll be greeted with the excellent 178-degree viewing angle of the monitor plus the 1920 x 1080 FHD image quality resolution, making the monitor display a perfect combo. The best part is that the Lenovo L22i-30 is equipped with  TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certified technology, which reduces harmful blue light and screen flicker that can cause eye strain during a long period of the game. Now, switching between games or streaming is not a problem, thanks to Lenovo Artery Software, which can effortlessly change settings on different viewing modes.

And speaking of game console, when I connected the device directly to the monitor, I never had any problem at all. Needless to say, playing with Call of Duty Warzone on Lenovo 22i-30 was more entertaining than our Smart TV. While on the game, this monitor will give you more advantages than standard 60hz monitors, thanks to the 75hz refresh rate allowing you to experience perfect motion in most of your game. (In other words, there’s no stutter or lag in images).

Other than what the monitor’s display offers, it has a durable stand and is made of metal.  My previous monitor’s stand was made of plastic so this was a huge upgrade. The buttons on the front are easy to understand, though I still would’ve preferred the joystick-like on my previous monitor. The monitor has cable management on the stand, so if you have very messy cables like me it’s nice to have.

My smallest concern for this monitor is that it’s just 21 inches, so if you’re tall, you will need a monitor riser. But thankfully, my monitor riser was sent by Lenovo! Overall, if you are a gamer or non-gamer, I would certainly recommend the Lenovo L22i-30! Aside from the budget-friendly pricing of PHP 7,490, you’ll get everything you need most. The color quality display, performance, and Lenovo craftsmanship are worth and bang for your buck!
