This is it! Audi Philippines, the exclusive distributor and importer of Audi vehicles in the country, has officially announced that they are now selling their newest and smallest member in the expanding “Q” family—the 2020 Audi Q2.

According to Audi Philippines, the new refreshed compact crossover Audi Q2 is built for everyday urban driving and recreation while offering style and a high level of functionality. It focuses on its virtual cockpit, ambient lighting package, multi media interface (MMI) navigation and cruise control. 

Design-wise, the Q2 has an eye-catching octagonal single frame grille matched with LED daytime running lights and LED headlamps including dynamic turn signals. The sleek roof defines the side view and merges into the C-pillars with the contrast side blades. At the back, there’s a solid road presence can be seen with the sporty roof spoiler, powerfully arched bumper and rear diffuser.

Size-wise, the Audi Q2 measures 1.51 meters tall and 1.79 meters wide. The overhangs are short, making the vehicle very agile, with an overall vehicle length of 4.19 meters and a wheelbase of 2.60 meters. It is a fun and easy car to drive and it is equipped with 17-alloy wheels in a 15-spoke design which gives an overall progressive design.

Inside, there’s a sleek, angular exterior continues through to the interior. The Audi Sport inspired flat-bottomed steering wheel is wrapped with sport contour leather with multi-function buttons and paddle shifts.The five-seater crossover,now equipped with the Audi Virtual Cockpit’s 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster replacing traditional dials.

Infotainment functions and driver information are displayed in brilliant high resolution, with two different layouts possible at the touch of a button. For the full infotainment experience, the 7-inch high resolution colored MMI display (all compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) is positioned up high on the instrument panel which can be operated by a rotary/push-button control and two buttons on the center tunnel.

Sharing the same platform with A3 hatchback, the Q2 resembles a typical SUV with high driving position and driving characteristics like an Audi sedan, good visibility and a large luggage compartment with up to 1,050 liters of capacity. One may opt to personalize the feel inside with the unique ambient lighting package which is projected throughout the vehicle.

Engine-wise, the new Q2 has the efficient and powerful 1.0-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 116 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque mated to a 7-Speed S-Tronic Automatic Transmission. On paper, it has a top speed of 197-kilometers per hour with an acceleration of 10.1 seconds from 0-100-kilometers per hour.

In terms of safety, it displays an array of safety features and comprehensive driver assistance systems, which include cruise control, speed limiter, electronic stabilization control, electro-mechanical parking brake, anti-lock braking system, airbag for driver, passenger and side airbags in front with curtain bag.

While the Q2 offers style, class and performance, it won’t be left alone in terms of accolades as the car receives different awards, which includes Excellent Production Design-Transportation for German Design Award in Frankfurt; Best of the Best award of Automotive Brand Contest by German Council in Paris; and the Best Compact Vehicle in the Gold Steering Wheel Awards—the most coveted award in Europe.
